There does not appear to be a HDMI input socket on my Amp, Aclass. Although my Amp is in good order, it pre-dates HDMI technology. (1980s, I think). Some net guides mention an 'optical input', but I've never used these cables/socket types. There is a mysterious input socket on the Amp pictured in: BackOfHitachiAmp - But I'm not sure what that does yet. Thanks so much, Aclass. It's definitely worth a shot. Now I just need to hunt down a Mini Audio Jack-To-RCA cable (As seen in Aclass' pic and on earlier posted 'Crutchfield' video). Sourcing a 3.5mm Audio Lead-To-Dual RCA Cable: Argos definitely do not sell these specialized cables. (I checked already).
My next port of call for this kind of item is always Maplins (I don't buy stuff off Ebay, I've heard too many horror stories about faulty items, failed deliveries and the like). Maplin's website delivers the goods. But they call this lead '3.5mm Stereo Jack to 2 Phono Cable' And it only costs £1.83. Here's link to their web page: Next Stage In Audio Setup: I will purchase the cable, install it and test. Then, I'll let you guys know the results (of course) For anyone reading this thread who's getting a bit confused about what's going on, this is what's happening: TV 3.5mm Audio OUT > Hitachi Amp RCA Red & White Sockets (AUDIO IN) - Eliminating the need for USB powered PC Speakers I am currently using (and possibly the hum on the speakers although it's hardly audible).
